Xylooligosaccharides (XOS) are β-1,4-linked xylose oligomers with a DP of 3 to ∼8. Xylooligosaccharides XOS powder are oligomers made up of xylose units, and naturally found in wheat bran, barley hulls, gram husk, almond shells, bamboo, corn cob, straw, and brewery spent grains. Xylooligosaccharides XOS powder is produced from xylan using enzymatic hydrolysis. At Bailong Xylooligosaccharides XOS powder is produced using lignocellulosic materials as corn cob.

Xylooligosaccharides (XOS) is the widely used prebiotic ingredient for food nutrition in the world. It is non-digestible. Several studies show that Xylooligosaccharides can have following potential benefits for consumers:

1. Stimulation of growth of bifidogenic bacteria
   Xylooligosaccharides (XOS) are non-digestible food components which can be fermented in the large intestine. Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillia are easily able to ferment Xylooligosaccharides (XOS) resulting in stimulation of the growth and/or activity of these bacteria in the colon.
